PY-OTE (Python Occultation Timing Extractor) – program do analizy plików *csv wygenerowanych przez Tangrę lub Limovie. Stworzony przez Roberta Andersona jako znacznie prostsza w obsłudze alternatywa dla programu R-OTE. Program jest możliwy do użycia na różnych platformach – Windowsie, iOS oraz Linuxie i jego dokładność jest analogiczna jak R-OTE.

Jeśli program poprosi o wprowadzenie czasów potrzebnych do obróbki (funkcja “occultation time extractor”) to dla znanych inserterów IOTA-VTI, Kiwi OSD, etc… należy wpisać czas wcześniejszy – to czas kiedy na wyjściu analogowej kamery pojawia się impuls synchronizacji półobraz/klatka (?).
Also, the latest version of PYOTE 2.0.8 has been upgraded to specifically support videos with flash tags. There is a bit of a process to it. You must filter the cell phone flash with a small pinhole and/or filter tape to dim the flash so it does not saturate the screen when the flash fires. Then, once you get a useable video, you must record a minimum of two channels on the Limovie analysis, one (or more for the target stars) using regular apertures, and one for a rectangular aperture set in a star-free background area. Then, with two channels of data available, one with an occultation and one with flash tags, PYOTE can automatically calibrate the flashes from the App flash log and then establish those times to the frames in the .csv file. Then, PYOTE can apply the calibrated time stamps to the light curve with the occultation in it and get calibrated D and R times to +/- 10 ms accuracy. Znacznik czasu podany w programie PyOTE powinien być typu “start exposure”.
Update skryptu – aby załadować najnowszy skrypt PyOTE (beta) należy użyć w wierszu polecenia (cmd) następującego wyrażenia:
pip install pyote==5.4.2
